Climatic Phenomena

Friends,

We are having strong wind and hard rain because we are being affected by the Storm No. 8 (or Koppu). I do hope you are all under some sort of shelter, and not travelling in the streets.

On this occasion, can you guys give me a good list of all climatic phenomena you could think of?

Thanks.
Toan.

flood: we've known it. Right?

typhoon: a tropical storm with very strong winds

hurricane: storm with very strong winds at least at the 8th level in Atlantic Ocean.

cyclone:a tropical storm in which strong winds move in a circle.

whirlwind:a very strong wind that moves very fast in a circle

waterspout: a column of water that is pulled up from the sea during a storm by a rapidly spinning column of air

Tho Anh,

1. Flood is not a climatic phenomenon, though it can be caused to happen by a climatic phenomenon.
2. Typhoon, Hurricane, Cyclone are all storms of different levels.
3. Whirlwind is a kind of wind. So why don't you mention wind?
4. Waterspout is a kind of tornado that is a climatic phenomenon. Do you know the difference between a waterspout and a tornado?
5. Don't you know any other kinds of climatic phenomena?
